Transportation Research Board
As part of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, the Transportation Research Board (TRB) provides leadership in transportation improvements and innovation through trusted, timely, impartial, and evidence-based information exchange, research, and advice regarding all modes of transportation. For example, committees, researchers, and staff are currently focused on advancing resilient infrastructure, exploring transformational technology, and caring for the public’s health and safety.
Transportation Safety Institute (TSI)
Transportation Safety Institute (TSI), serves as the primary training unit for FTA’s Office. of Transit Safety and Security. TSI’s Transit Safety and Security Division develops and delivers a broad variety of safety and security training and education to the transit industry, both private and public sector. Courses equip transit personnel with high performance skills needed to effectively operate, maintain, and manage public transportation systems.
National Transit Institute (NTI)
The National Transit Institute (NTI) was established to develop, promote, and deliver training and education programs for the public transit industry. NTI provides training, education, and clearinghouse services in support of public transportation and quality of life in the United States.
National Rural Transit Assistance Program (National RTAP)
The National Rural Transit Assistance Program (National RTAP) provides services to rural and small transit agencies. The products help agencies maximize their resources and ensure that their employees are trained in all aspects of passenger service, including transit safety.
Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA)
The Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) provides services to its members and to the Community Transportation industry. Since 1988, CTAA provided training and certification programs that have included; customized training programs, certification programs in the transit field, and a Safety and Security Accreditation Program.
American Public Transportation Association (APTA)
The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) offers executive and management level webinars and online training through its partners for rail systems.
